Best Perth Live Music Memory?
Without a doubt, my favourite gig was Lorde’s Solar Power Tour at the Red Hill Auditorium. I’d been living in Perth for about 6 months and the night of the concert a mate offered me a ticket and of course, I couldn’t say no. I’d never been to Red Hill Auditorium but was totally blown away by the venue. The fact it was outside and had the sun shining right on us, felt very fitting. When Lorde came out it was genuinely one of those, you had to be there moments. The crowd’s energy was unlike any other gig I’ve been to, we felt spiritually connected - haha. Lorde had curated her performance perfectly from her set design which was a sun dial all the way to the set list, shifting the mood of each song. I love when live music feels like a theatrical performance and when an artist takes the time to find a venue that fits their energy, it elevates the whole experience. I cried like, all night.
All-Time Favourite Music Video? (the one you’ve watched way too many times!)
I love watching the ‘BTS’ of the music video because I love to see how it’s made. It feels like a criminal answer to give but I’m a listen to the words in my bedroom kind of girl. However, currently I’ve been obsessed with Addison Rae’s ‘Headphone’s On’. The visuals in it are so striking and I’m a big fan of the nostalgia.
Your Go-To Tip for Breaking Into Music Marketing & Content Creation?
My Go-To Tip would be to get rid of your fear of Tik Tok and get comfortable in front of a camera! I know it can feel like your worst enemy with trends and algorithms but they aren’t there to work against you. If you just be yourself and truly stick to who YOU are, you will naturally find people who vibe with your tune. Personally, I think it’s better to have a bunch of people who consistently follow and engage with your content because they resonate with you as an artist and music rather than a bunch of people who have followed you for a one-off viral video (usually they end up unfollowing later down the track too!).
Your Best WA Music Deep Cut? Could be a venue, a band, or an unforgettable gig story.
If you’re not going to Therapy Club at 3 am, you're partying wrong. Honestly, I feel like it’s my version of hot girl euro summer here in Perth. The vibes are truly immaculate.
